01 Does rubber mulch attract bugs? +
Rubber mulch does not provide the same organic food source that wood mulch does, although insects can still be present in any outdoor environment.
02 Will rubber mulch wash away? +
Individual pieces can move, especially around slopes, drainage paths and high-traffic areas. Proper edging, adequate depth and periodic redistribution help keep loose-fill material where it belongs.
03 Does rubber mulch break down? +
Rubber mulch does not decompose in the same way wood mulch does. Maintenance is still important to address displacement, drainage, depth and overall condition.
04 Can kids play on it barefoot? +
They can, but surface temperature matters. On hot sunny days, check the surface before barefoot play. Footwear can also help protect against hot surfaces and debris.
05 Does rubber mulch stain clothes? +
Color transfer can depend on the product and conditions. Rather than assuming every colored rubber product behaves the same way, look at the manufacturer's color process, specifications and warranty.
06 How often does rubber mulch need maintenance? +
Maintenance is primarily about keeping the intended depth, redistributing displaced material, checking drainage and keeping the play area in good condition.
